After a Morris Minor replacement project was aborted, the resultant small car became the Riley 1.5 and Wolseley 1500 in 1957 instead. The Minor’s floorpan and suspension were retained, but with a new, well-rounded and smart-looking body. The Minor’s floorpan and suspension were retained, but with a new, well-rounded and smart-looking body. The Wolseley was the comfortable cruiser of the pair and thus gave a lower 43bhp from its single-carburettor BMC B-series 1489cc engine. The 1960 MkII hid the bonnet and boot hinges, while the 1961 MkIII lowered the suspension, changed the tail lamps and tweaked the grille. Quite a characterful small classic today.
