Until Dawn, a film adaptation of the PlayStation horror video game, marks the return of filmmaker David F. Sandberg to the horror genre, following his ventures in the superhero realm with movies like Shazam. The project, under the production of Screen Gems and PlayStation Productions — both subsidiaries of Sony — brings together a formidable team known for their profound impact on the horror film industry. The screenplay, initially penned by Blair Butler, known for her work on Sony’s vampire thriller The Invitation, receives a fresh pass from Gary Dauberman, the acclaimed screenwriter behind major horror franchises such as It, Annabelle, and The Nun. Dauberman also produces under his Coin Operated banner, alongside Sandberg and Lotta Losten of Mangata shingle, Roy Lee of Vertigo Entertainment, and PlayStation Productions’ Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan.
