All change for the 1980s as TVR adopt radical new wedge-shaped bodies from the pen of former Lotus designer Oliver Winterbottom. Launched as a two-seater coupé, the range expanded with a 2+2 and convertible in 1981. The former was short lived, but when it was dropped, the larger body, sans rear seats, was used for the coupé. All change for the 1980s as TVR adopt radical new wedge-shaped bodies from the pen of former Lotus designer Oliver Winterbottom. Launched as a two-seater coupé, the range expanded with a 2+2 and convertible in 1981. The former was short lived, but when it was dropped, the larger body, sans rear seats, was used for the coupé. Engine was from Ford again – the Cologne V6 from the Capri 2.8i. From 1983 a five-speed gearbox was introduced; the following year the Tasmin was rebadged 280i. There was a Pinto-powered Tasmin 200 for a short time, but this was not popular.
