The Tale of Princess Kaguya

While working in the fields, a bamboo cutter named Okina comes across a glowing bamboo shoot. When he cuts it open, he discovers a tiny girl named Kaguya inside. He takes the girl home, where he and his wife, Ona, raise her. Kaguya grows into a beautiful woman, and when Okina finds gold near the glowing bamboo shoot, he is convinced Kaguya is of royal lineage. But Kaguya is more than mere royalty.
