In response, the suave Father Quart, a representative of the Church's Institute of External Affairs — essentially a branch of Vatican intelligence — is assigned to delve into the matter. The hacker's mysterious plea pertains to a dilapidated 17th-century Baroque church situated in the heart of Seville, which eerily seems to "kill to defend itself".
