Based on the book proposal which hails from best-selling author Ben Mezrich. The story deals with a group of rag-tag investors from a Reddit community who banded together to put the squeeze on at least two hedge funds shorting the stock of beleaguered retailer Gamestop. As a result, these amateur investors caused GameStop’s market value to increase rise over 1,700% in a few weeks. They began looking at other stocks deemed obsolete like Nokia and AMC to try and do the same, and then a major controversy arose over trading app RobinHood putting restrictions on certain stocks.
