The Triumph TR2 based Swallow Doretti is one of the most sought-after British specials of the 1950s because of its combination of simple, elegant style, and rugged Triumph TR2 mechanicals. The bodyshell was handbuilt sheet steel skin with aluminium panels attached, mated to a tubular frame chassis. The car was as good to drive as the TR2 it was based on, and the leather-trimmed interior was well-made – but its advantages over the Triumph weren’t sufficient enough to warrant the hefty premium.
