SARAH Q is an edgy, gritty, seriocomic tale of one girl’s descent into sex, drugs, and violence. Every year, thousands of young actors migrate to New York City to study at acting conservatories in hopes of launching their careers. Sarah Quintana lives with her grandparents in a one stop-light town in upstate New York. She takes off alone to Manhattan with dreams of making it big as an actress, only to get mired in a quicksand of shady characters from the world of show business, the acting conservatory in which she is enrolled, and the underbelly of street life. Her one ray of light is her neighbor Frankie Yee, a cross between Bruce Lee and Elvis Presley (“Brelvis”). Sarah’s feelings for Frankie are in conflict with her own temptations for fame, her involvement with a sleazy film director, and criminal activity which she has knowingly engaged in order to make extra money.
