Launched in 1964, this rear-engined car was tuned up to a whopping 90bhp, rather more than its rear-engined chassis could cope with despite the lowered suspension. The servo-assisted disc brakes at least gave it the ability to stop quickly. More madness was to follow though, for in 1967, the engine was upped to 1255cc, giving it 103bhp and the ability to easily top the ton. Originally, Gordinis were only available in blue with white stripes; other identifiers were spotlamps and four headlamps on the 1255cc R1135 types.
