From 1967 the regular 130bhp 911 is renamed 911L. This is because there is now not only the sporty ‘S’ version, but an entry level model with 110bhp called the 911T (for Touring). As standard it has a four- rather than five-speed ‘box. From August 1968 the ‘B-series’ body arrives with the rear wheels moved back by 61mm to lengthen the wheelbase and improve handling. At this point the 911L gains fuel injection, gets wider wheels and becomes the 140bhp 911E. For 1970 there’s 2.2 litres and 125/155bhp (T/E). Two years later capacity grows to 2.4 litres and power to 130/165bhp.
