MG TFClassic Car
The final flowering of the pre-war Midget concept was the TF which, like its predecessors, proved massively popular in the USA. It was a straightforward development of TD MkII, and the TF’s most obvious changes from the older car are its raked radiator grille, lowered bonnet line and faired-in headlamps. Despite this, it was looking rather old by 1953, and sales in the UK were consequently slowing. Originally powered by the TD’s engine, but later 1500 (July 1954 on) had XPEG engine of 1466cc and a top speed of nearly 90mph.
