MG B MkII/IIIClassic Car
Upgrading the evergreen MGB to MkII specification was enough to keep Abingdon busy and sales on a high. The four-speed gearbox finally received synchromesh on all forward ratios, and an optional Borg-Warner automatic gearbox became available. In 1970 the MkII was treated to a BL style front end, which did away with the chrome grille surround and slats. MG fans hated the cost-constrained new style, and it was soon canned. The return to chrome ushered in the MkIII, which received a number of improvements to keep the MGB looking fresh. Prices shown for Roadster. Deduct a third for GT values.
