The 1800 GT was introduced to move Marcos into the MGB market, despite being available in kit form. Powered by a Volvo engine (an unusual step for a British specialist at the time), and featuring an advanced suspension layout, it was a quick and fine-handling alternative. However, the price was on the high side, and sales remained disappointing.
