The Series 1.5 was, as the name suggests, a bridge between the SI and S2. Only current for a year, its main role seems to have been introducing the new style headlamps with no covers but more chrome trim. They may not have looked so good but they worked better. The Series 1.5 was, as the name suggests, a bridge between the SI and S2. Only current for a year, its main role seems to have been introducing the new style headlamps with no covers but more chrome trim. They may not have looked so good but they worked better. The S2 brought more significant changes, like the larger grille opening, heavier front bumpers and bigger light units. Mechanical changes were limited to an improved cooling system and (thank goodness!) better brakes, changed from Lockheed to Girling. Power steering was an option.
