JAGUAR 2.5-litre/Mark VClassic Car
The first genuinely new post-war Jaguar saloon, although it was actually a bit of a stop-gap between the pre-war cars and the all-new metal on the horizon. The sweeping bodywork was all-new, but quite similar to what came before, while the chassis would go on to be used to underpin all of Jaguar’s ‘50s range of saloons. Independent front suspension finally made an appearance, bringing the Mark V in line with its rivals, and improving road manners. Limited production run – especially the drophead – means finding the right one takes time.
