Aimed at the family man of style and substance. Allow for number changes around the same bodyshell and this is the longest-running Ferrari of all time at 17 years. The 365s started with a 4.4-litre V12, but this grew to 4.8 litres (400) and finally five litres (412i) by 1986. Quick and fine-handling despite their size, the penalty comes at the pumps, where you can expect 10-12mpg. Prices quoted are for the 412i; 365s are a little more and 400s cost a little less. Most came with a General Motors-sourced four-speed automatic gearbox.
