Fallout transports viewers to an alternative future where a nuclear war in 2077 has devastated Earth, reverting what should have been an advanced age of robotics and hovercars back to a state resembling the 1940s America - but with a dystopian, science fiction twist. This new Amazon Prime Video series, set to premiere on April 12, leaps forward 219 years post-apocalypse to follow the story of Lucy (played by Ella Purnell) who has spent her entire life in a vault, insulated from the outside world and the nuclear fallout. Lucy's tranquil underground life comes to an abrupt end when circumstances force her above ground on a rescue mission. Above, she discovers a world unrecognizable, strewn with the remnants of civilization and roamed by monstrous creatures and hardened survivors. The show, developed by "Westworld" creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, promises a narrative steeped in the division of class and the survival of the fittest, wrapped in the dark humor that defined the iconic video game series it's based on.
