The series will feature Ncuti Gatwa stepping into the role of the Fifteenth Doctor, a fresh incarnation of the Doctor, an extraterrestrial Time Lord who navigates time and space in the TARDIS, which externally resembles a British police box. Alongside him, the series welcomes Millie Gibson as Ruby Sunday, the Doctor's latest companion. Scheduled to premiere with a festive episode in late 2023, the series is expected to comprise eight episodes. Directors Dylan Holmes Williams, Mark Tonderai, Julie Anne Robinson, Ben Chessell, and Jamie Donoughue have helmed these episodes. Filming kicked off in December 2022, with the production transitioning from Roath Lock Studios to Wolf Studios after Bad Wolf joined as a co-producer of the series.
