When Alex Rider discovers his uncle Ian was killed while serving as a British spy, not in a car accident as he had been led to believe, his life as an average teenager is upended. Alan Blunt, the head of a secretive MI6 division known as The Department, approaches him with a revelation: Alex has been unwittingly prepared for the perilous realm of espionage since childhood.
