Danny Boyle and Alex Garland, the director and writer, respectively, behind the 2002 film "28 Days Later," are rejoining forces for the upcoming project and its sequel. Boyle is slated to helm "28 Years Later," although it remains unconfirmed whether he will also direct the subsequent installment. Meanwhile, Garland is confirmed to pen the scripts for both films. Cillian Murphy could return in some capacity too, although it's not official yet.
