A breathtaking action epic, stylishly telling the story of legendary martial arts hero Ip Man. China, 1936. Ip Man (Tony Leung Chiu-wai) is a brilliant practitioner of the form of kung fu known as wing chun. He's challenged to a fight by aging northern Master Gong Yutian (Wang Qingxiang), who intends to demonstrate his supremacy. But when Ip Man triumphs, Gong's daughter, Gong Er (Zhang Ziyi), resolves to restore her clan's reputation. She challenges him to another contest, during which romantic sparks start to fly. Epic in scope and spectacular in execution, 'My Blueberry Nights' director Wong Kar wai's kinetic, stunningly beautiful action movie unfolds against a turbulent political backdrop. Nominated for cinematography and costume design Oscars, it charts the eventful life of the real Ip Man, whose most famous pupil was Bruce Lee. The incredible fight scenes were choreographed by Yuen Woo-ping, of 'The Matrix' and 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' fame. In Chinese with English subtitles
