"Fog of War," set during the final months of World War II, narrates the story of a wounded American pilot, Gene (played by Abel), and his fiancée Penny (portrayed by Hildebrand), who is an OSS agent. Seeking refuge, they retreat to a secluded estate in Massachusetts, owned by Penny’s distant uncle Robert (characterized by Cusack). Unbeknownst to Penny, the OSS has enlisted Gene to keep a close eye on the family and the surrounding community. They are responding to the theft of top-secret documents associated with the D-Day invasion. A hidden enemy agent is believed to be nearby, ready to hand over these strategic plans to the Axis Powers.
