The Last Guardian 'Delayed A Few Weeks' Announces Sony

It just wouldn't be The Last Guardian if somewhere there wasn't a delay happening. Sony has just announced they've made "the tough decision to delay" Fumito Ueda's grand game.

The new (as of writing) date for release is December 6th for the US, and December 9th for the UK.

"A delay is a difficult decision, particularly with this game, but we have encountered more bugs than anticipated while in the final stages of development. To ensure that The Last Guardian delivers on the experience that the game’s creators have envisioned, we need to take the extra time to work on those issues."

The Last Guardian was unveiled officially way back in 2009 but then went into hibernation from the public and Team ICO fans. It then suffered constant delays and never did materialise as a demo included with Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Collection.

In 2012 The Last Guardian then jumped development from PlayStation 3 to PlayStation 4 given how long everything was taking. In 2014 they refused to say much about how the project was progressing, who was working on it, what platforms it was for and so on.

In 2015 its trademark was reissued for the fourth time to protect it and in July of that year Sony had finally re-announced The Last Guardian at their E3 press conference. Now it's barely hanging on to a 2016 release date.

The Last Guardian releases on PlayStation 4 December 6th in the US, 7th in Europe, 9th in the UK.
