Going Boldly: See the First Trailer for Star Trek: Discovery
The road back to the small screen for Star Trek has been beset by delays and setbacks but, finally, we have our first glimpse of Star Trek: Discovery.
The series was originally set to launch earlier this year but after a series of setbacks, including the loss of original showrunner Bryan Fuller, it looks as though the show is about to boldly go with a fall launch date – and to mark that occasion, we’re getting our first look at the new crew, an old enemy, and the nature of their mission.
The first thing that strikes you is just how gorgeous it looks – it’s a clear indication that CBS are really putting their full weight behind the All Access subscription platform that will launch the series. Other than the visuals, we get a taste of what’s to come in terms of relationship between Sonequa Martin-Green’s conflicted Michael Burnham, as well as Michelle Yeoh’s Capt. Georgiou, the Federations conflict with the Klingons, and the nature of their five-year mission to boldly go where no man has gone before.
Star Trek: Discovery looks set to make its bow in the fall.
