Jurassic World 2: New Director Found?

Monster hit Jurassic World may have lost its helmer when Colin Trevorrow departed for a galaxy far, far away for Star Wars IX but the hunt is on for his replacement – and Universal have someone in their sights to bring Jurassic World 2 to the big screen.

The studio had reportedly been sniffing around Juan Antonio Bayona (The Orphanage) as a potential candidate to be welcomed to what’s left of Jurassic Park. But at the time, he was committed to shooting World War Z 2 for Paramount, with production due to begin this summer.

However, Bayona dropped out of World War Z 2 at the end of last week (or at least the news broke that he had), and Deadline is reporting that his name is now being linked again with the job of shepherding Jurassic World 2 to the screen.

Nothing is confirmed just yet but work has already begun on the script which is being written by Trevorrow and Derek Connolly. And with Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard both set to return Bayona seems like a solid candidate to take the hot seat.
