Blizzard Entertainment could be starting up the drama between Heaven and the Hells again with a new full Diablo instalment, with fingers pointing to BlizzCon 2016.
Conspiracy abounds that Blizzard are ready to make the leap to another Diablo game, with Diablo 2 project lead David Brevik and senior producer Bill Roper notably at Blizzard California. Where does the rumour that Blizzard will be announcing Diablo IV at BlizzCon originate?
Tinfoil hat enthusiast YouTuber Rhykker believes the truth may lie in a Diablo-themed sack that's filled with polyhedral dice. This came as part of the BlizzCon 2016 goody bag. One of the polyhedral dice is 4-sided, commonly referred to as... D4.
The D4 die is unusual claims Rhykker because of a 'printing error' that has left one of sides on the die not corresponding to the others, meaning it's a bit useless as an actual D4 to be used while playing a game. The rabbit hole goes a little deeper when you note the 'print error' means a certain number sequence appears: 114.
What's so special about 114? Well, that could mean November 4th which just happens to be the date BlizzCon 2016 begins, and it's on a D4. Coincidence?
Blizzard could just be teasing the obsessive pattern hunters out there and at the very least announce a new expansion to Diablo III.
BlizzCon 2016 takes place November 4-5 at the Anaheim Convention Center in California. This will be the 10th BlizzCon hosted by Blizzard Entertainment but also the companies 25th anniversary. It's also about 20 years since the first Diablo game released. A perfect time for a new adventure, no?
