Daniel Craig Rumoured to Be Back As James Bond
Here comes the new Bond, same as the old Bond. Daniel Craig is rumoured to be returning to the role that made him want to slash his wrists for the 25th 007 movie.
News broke on Monday that James Bond will return in November 2019. That movie will put the suave super spy in direct competition with a live-action fairy tale from Walt Disney Studios. (Disney claimed the date last year but has not yet disclosed the specific movie.)
The announcement also confirmed that long-time franchise writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade who have worked on six Bond movies since 1999’s The World Is Not Enough.
The companies also said details about a distribution partner, international release dates and the film’s cast and director would be announced “at a later date.” But Mr. Craig’s return is a done deal, according to two people briefed on the matter, who spoke to the New York Times on the condition of anonymity to avoid conflicts with Eon and MGM.
Previously, thanks to the gruelling schedule for Spectre, Craig had said ‘I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists’ than return to the role. He has since backtracked from that statement.
