Kingsman 2 Release Date Confirmed
After the battle for star Taron Egerton's services was won by Fox, the studio is now pressing ahead with Kingsman 2 – and they’ve confirmed the release date.
Fox want the follow-up to Matthew Vaughn’s spy thriller to be in front of cameras by April 2016 with an eye to getting the film in cinemas by June 16th 2017. That means that production on Lionsgate’s Robin Hood: Origins, to which Egerton is also committed, has been pushed back to the end of next summer – clearing a path for Kingsman 2.
The marked difference between this release date and the first movies more modest January bow is a reflection of the confidence Fox has in its sleeper hit a second time around.
It's expected that Matthew Vaughn will return to direct again, and he's working on the screenplay for the film with Jane Goldman at the moment.
