Bayonetta 3 'Hopes Raised' At PlatinumGames

Developer PlatinumGames is in serious internal talks for a third Bayonetta in the crazy action series they created, featuring the sassy gun-heeled witch.

The IP debuted in late 2009 before a sequel launched in 2014 for the action hack 'n' slash game. There's nothing definitive with studio producer Atsushi Inaba revealing it's very much in the discussion phase.

"I would like to make Bayonetta 3," Inaba said, speaking to SourceGaming in Japan at BitSummit. "We’re talking within the company even now about what to do. But because we’re constantly talking about it, that actually makes it really hard to say. If we weren’t talking about it, we could just say something random or offhand, you know, but because we’re actually talking about it."

Inaba wouldn't say whether or not Bayonetta 3 would change their leading lady for another character adding it's all up for discussion right now. PlatinumGames is currently working on a new 'formless IP' at the studio, with their Scalebound project for Microsoft that was scheduled for 2017 having been cancelled.
