Need For Speed Payback Announced

EA and developer Ghost Games has finally announced Need for Speed Payback, the otherwise non-descript Need for Speed we knew was coming later in 2017.

It's set in the fictitious city of Fortune Valley where our crew has been betrayed and is now out for vengeance against a rather unpleasant cartel known as The House. Their reach is considerable with influence over casinos, gangs and even the Fortune Valley PD.

“Need for Speed returns this year to challenge what players expect from racing games,” said Marcus Nilsson, Executive Producer. “We’re still delivering everything our fans love about the franchise – the deepest customization, an impressive roster of cars, intense races and open world pursuits – but with Need for Speed Payback, we’re bringing together all those elements in an all new blockbuster driving experience. From the story, to the different characters you can drive as, to the varied missions, to the edge-of-your-seat moments, this is our vision for what action driving entertainment means today.”

We'll be swapping between three playable characters - Tyler, Mac and Jess - who take on The House in heists, races and car battles across the city. There will also be off road action in the dusty outskirts of Fortune Valley.

Need for Speed Payback releases on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 November 10th, 2017.
