Datamining Reveals Possible Co-Op Mode For Hearthstone
A handful of test strings have been mined from the depths of Hearthstone's code leading 'HearthPwn' to believe that the game could be getting a co-operative mode sometime soon.
There's nothing solid within the following strings of information; it could be a developer tooling around with an idea or an event for Tavern Brawl. It's speculation at the moment, but we're definitely crossing our collective fingers for a co-op battle mode.
- VO_HRW_TEST_00 – I will cleanse you both of the Curse of Flesh!
- VO_HRW_TEST_01 – Well done! You’ve defeated the boss together.\n\nBoth players win!
- VO_HRW_TEST_02 – Defeat Gearmaster Mechazod together to win!
- VO_HRW_TEST_ABILITY_03 – Damaging all other characters.
- VO_HRW_TEST_ABILITY_05 – Dealing damage to both heroes.
There's no official word from Blizzard yet, the company currently has its hands full with a suspected DDoS attack. As for Hearthstone, The Grand Tournament is expected to launch August 24 but will have a preview during this week's Tavern Brawl mode.
The Grand Tournament will feature 132 brand-new cards as well as new features such as effects which trigger when your Hero Power is used, and 'Jousts' which will pull a monster from your deck at random, leaving the player with the lower-cost minion at a loss.
