The First Trailer For The Greatest Showman

Step right this way folks, it’s the event of the century! Meet The Greatest Showman, the musical about the early days of PT Barnum, as played by the artist formerly known as Wolverine, Hugh Jackman.

The film charts Barnum's life from a poor upbringing to his first proper circus in New York in the 1800s, a time when such shows were frowned upon as morally dubious. Helping him on his questionable new venture is his wife, Charity, played by Michelle Williams, with Zac Efron as his business partner who initially isn't sure about the whole shebang. Rebecca Ferguson, meanwhile, is Swedish Opera singer Jenny Lind, and Zendaya plays a trapeze artist who catches Efron's eye.

The trailer, which hits the right notes without revealing any of the big musical set pieces, is a visual treat – which is to be expected as director Michael Gracey’s background is in visual effects.

The Greatest Showman will be in cinemas on the 1st January next year.
