Activision States "Nothing Has Changed" with Modern Warfare Remastered Release

Rumour has it that Activision has plans to release Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered as a standalone title , despite their original plan to keep the game as a bonus for Infinite Warfare. Activision has responded to this rumour, confirming it's false.

The game will still only be available as part of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare which - to us - does seem unlikely in the long run, but as of right now, picking up the latest instalment to the franchise will be your only way to try this remastered classic.

The rumour grew from a recent statement from Game Director David Pellas which updated readers about the state of Modern Warfare Remastered's maps on launch;

"What we announced before today was that we were going to offer 10 maps on launch, and that’s still true. The announcement today is that the six remaining maps we are actually going to be delivering to anyone who purchases Modern Warfare Remastered, anyone who owns it or a version of Infinite Warfare that comes with it, they’re going to get all 16 of the maps for no additional cost."

Folks focused on the sentence "anyone who owns it or a version of Infinite Warfare" which out of context would absolutely suggest a standalone release. But no, rumour debunked!
