Michael Keaton In Talks to Play Villain in Live Action Dumbo Remake
Playing his second major villain in quick succession and reuniting with Batman and Beetlejuice director Tim Burton, Michael Keaton is in talks to play the main bad guy in Disney’s live action remake of Dumbo.
Burton has been busy filling the big top for Disney’s latest live action conversion with Eva Green and Danny DeVito in place and Colin Farrell in talks to co-star. DeVito is playing the kindly owner of a small circus outfit home to Dumbo and his mother, while Green will be a French trapeze artist.
If he does make a deal, Keaton will be Vandemere, the owner of a much bigger, less friendly big top who sees Dumbo as something he can exploit. Keaton is already be booed and hissed by audiences in his next big role as Adrian Toomes AKA The Vulture, when Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into cinemas on 7 July.
Dumbo, which is written by Ehren Kruger is due to begin filming this year.
