Mojang to Kill 'Scrolls' in One Year

It only launched out of beta last six months ago but collectable card game 'Scrolls', developed by Microsoft-owned Minecraft developer Mojang, will be shutting down its servers next year.

The game was first announced after the success of Minecraft in 2011, releasing onto PC and Mac in the form of a beta in June 2013. Unfortunately, according to the development team, "the game has reached a point where it can no longer sustain continuous development."

Scrolls just received a major content patch, Echoes, which will serve as the last content patch to the title before an axe is taken to the servers next July 1st.

Many are already predicting the demise of Mojang as Microsoft moulds the company into a Minecraft-only establishment but we hope this will not be the case.
