Stardock Entertainment has announced a Crusade expansion for space 4X Galactic Civilizations III, implementing some long desired features this spring 2017.
The time of words and peace are over as now the civilizations of space turn to the shadows as they recruit spies for espionage and train soldiers for war. Galactic Civilizations III: Crusade introduces a revamped invasion system for planets where you can now choose where to attack and defend from.
Spies meanwhile can steal technologies, assassinate troublesome leaders and - always a favourite - stir up civil unrest. Galactic Citizens is another feature that introduces talented individuals to benefit your wider society, like a talented and well-loved celebrity or pioneer can be moved around to help the empire flourish.
You can also create a new faction choosing a leader, its ideology and abilities. This extends to a customised naval fleet as well as unique dialogue responses when chatting with friends and foe. This new feature has been integrated into the Steam Workshop for ease of use among the community.
New races and civilizations are also introduced through a fresh story campaign. This expansion includes new mercenaries, custom built starbases, new galactic and United Planet events, as well as a sleeker UI and a reworked tech tree system.
Galactic Civilizations III: Crusade releases on PC this spring 2017.
