Adam West Stars in Batman Vs. Two-Face Trailer

In his final performance, the late, much-missed Adam West will bow out as Batman in the upcoming animated movie, Batman vs. Two-Face – the sequel to Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders, which will be coming to DVD and Blu-ray this fall.

Adam West and Burt Ward will reprise their roles as the caped crusaders, alongside Julie Newmar who also returns for the animated adventure as Catwoman.

As the title suggests the duo will be BIFF! BANG! POW-ING! Two-Face, played with gusto by Captain Kirk himself, William Shatner. Judging by the trailer, it should be a lot of fun to hear the unmistakable voices of West and Shatner battling it out in this fun-filled feature film.

The trailer also promises a decidedly odd origin story for Two-Face, who never appeared in the original 60s series. We see Doctor Hugo Strange using a clearly labelled ‘EVIL EXTRACTOR’ machine on the Joker, Penguin, Riddler and Egghead at the start. This questionable experiment backfires spectacularly; the machine overloads and sends an acidic substance flying all over Harvey Dent.

But really, who cares about plot? The real, and very sad, draw here is that we get to hear the final performance by Adam West as the caped crusader.  Here’s hoping DC Animation can recapture the magic of Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders and give West a heroic send off.

Batman vs. Two-Face arrives on DVD and Blu-ray October 17.
