Donald Glover Will Be Lando Calrissian in the Han Solo Movie
Hello, what have we here...It's official. Community and Spider-Man: Homecoming star Donald Glover has been cast as Lando Calrissian in the untitled Han Solo Star Wars Story film.
When it was originally announced that Lando would be appearing in the Han Solo film, which is directed by The Lego Movie helmers Phil Lord and Chris Miller and written by Jon and Lawrence Kasdan, Glover was everyone's first choice and, apparently, so too was he the film makers choice.
"We’re so lucky to have an artist as talented as Donald join us," say directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller. "These are big shoes to fill, and an even bigger cape, and this one fits him perfectly, which will save us money on alterations. Also, we’d like to publicly apologize to Donald for ruining Comic-Con for him forever."
Lando, of course, is an occasional friend of Han's, they have a history that stretches back through the years, and Calrissian famously lost the Millennium Falcon to Solo in a game of sabacc. And now Glover will be the man bringing him to life alongside Alden Ehrenreich's Han.
The the still-untitled Star Wars Story will be with us in May 2018.
