Sony Will No Longer Make AAA Games for the Vita

Sad news for Playstation Vita owners as Sony's President Shuhei Yoshida has confirmed that the company will no longer be producing first-party AAA titles for the handheld. This news is upsetting but unsurprising as we didn't catch too much news about the Vita at Sony's press conference yesterday.

Yoshida explained in an interview with folks at IGN, "To be honest, I wouldn’t say we will have big AAA Vita games from first-party. But yesterday, Square Enix announced the new World of Final Fantasy. That’s coming on PS Vita as well."

"And as you know and as I know, there are great games that come out digitally on PS Vita that are typically cross-platform with PS4. Volume is coming out soon and Super Time Force Ultra. There’s no lack of great games you can play on PS Vita and PS4. You can play at home on PS4 and continue on with cloud save on PS Vita."

The president did, however, explain that there is "so much amazing AAA content from third parties" which we saw in the quick-fire trailers at the event.
