Catan VR Announced For Holiday 2017
Board game Catan will be bringing the exploration and settlement building tabletop to VR this Holiday 2017, as you can now watch the island come to life.
Catan VR has been initially announced for PC via the Oculus Rift and Android with Samsung Gear VR. Additional VR platforms are in the works and will be announced later, which will likely include HTC Vive and hopefully PlayStation VR.
"True to the classic, but optimized for virtual reality, Catan VR allows tabletop fans and new players alike to experience the best-selling board game in a fresh, fully-immersive format. Whether taking on other players around the world, or playing against Catan personalities, players can watch the island come to life in VR for the first time, with beautiful in-game environments and cross-play functionality."
Catan, otherwise known as The Settlers of Catan, is a board game designed by Klaus Teuber in 1995. Players assume the role of settlers with each looking to build and develop various holdings while trading for various resources. Players are awarded points as their settlements grow with the first to reach a score the winner.
Catan VR releases on PC and Android this Holiday 2017.
