The spiritual successor to the Castlevania series won't be launching next year as initially planned according to a new development update from Koji Igarashi. Instead, the game will be shooting for an early 2018 release.
The news was broken in a new Development Update video in which IGA stated that "at this rate the game may not end up meeting my quality standards".
The delay is related to the employment of a new development team to the main production which will "improve our approach so that we can keep the game fully on track for how I envision it." More information will be shared soon, likely in the form of another Development Update video.
