War... war never changes. Oops, war just changed. Stardock has released the mighty beast Ashes of the Singularity onto Steam Early Access which is the very first DirectX 12 powered game to challenge the PC community.

The ambition of this real-time strategy is leveraging all that extra muscle DX12 can give developers and reinvesting it straight back into the scale of conflicts. Ashes of the Singularity doesn't want us fixated on battles but a full scale war engulfing entire worlds. Every single unit on the battlefield has turrets, cannons and guns that individually find targets.

It uses the Nitrous game engine which has been specifically designed to take advantage of 64-bit systems with the new DirectX 12 API and run as efficiently as possible. This new RTS has a benchmarking tool available to really crunch the numbers, which isn't surprising when the Star Swarm Stress Test has been on Steam for a while now which uses the Nitrous engine.

Ashes of the Singularity is available now through Steam Early Access for £27.99, which is 20% off until November 5th.
