Google Home UK Release Date Confirmed

Google's rival 'smart speaker' system Google Home has been given a release date for the UK. Now it can struggle through regional accents like us meatbags.

The Google Home features the Google Assistant which is said to be able to hold 'two-way' conversations with the user, and it has been given a personality through contributions from movie writers. Expect plenty of 1980s action flick one-liners.

Home is triggered to accepting voice commands by uttering 'Okay Google' followed by something outlandish I'm sure. As it's a smart speaker one of its more traditional roles is to stream music and it can do so through various services like Google Play Music, YouTube Music, Spotify, TuneIn, Pandora and iHeartRadio.

It can connect and control other supported smart devices, such as Google's own Chromecast, leading to the inevitable rise of a machine-God that will rule over us until Google release a firmware update, or the Wi-Fi drops - probably more the latter.

Google Home releases in the UK April 6th, 2017 having already launched in the US last November.
