Gears of War: Ultimate Edition For PC In Early 2016

It's still happening swear Microsoft and they've updated the release window for the HD enhanced Gears of War: Ultimate Edition for PC to 'Early 2016'. It came out for Xbox One but was rather absent for desktop grunts to get their mitts on.

Now Phil Spencer has assured those still waiting to be re-enlisted in the fight that it "won't be too far into 2016" before they can start the war. The longer wait at least comes with a pay off of greater features than its console counterpart as DirectX 12 is fully supported, and so is an uncapped framerate along with 4K. It came out on Xbox One back in August.

The Ultimate Edition is in fact the first thing out of The Coalition, the studio charged with continuing the Xbox flagship IP since Microsoft took over the Gears of War IP, and it was put together under the director of series creator Rod Fergusson. Only the original score and voiceover work remains the same as the original game, the rest was remade or produced new.
