Fast & Furious 9 and 10 Get Release Dates
Fast & Furious 8 has been talked up as the first part of a trilogy to bring the franchise to a stop but so far, we haven’t had any confirmation of just when we’ll see parts 9 & 10.
Studio Universal have staked out the release dates for episodes 9 and 10. They'll arrive on April 19, 2019 and April 2, 2021. And in fine tradition, Vin Diesel posted a celebratory Instagram, which came written in the familiar Furious font.
Fact fans will be keen to point out that 10 is the first movie to be confirmed for 2021 – that includes both Star Wars and Marvel movies.
While it seems to bring the franchise to a roaring end, undoubtedly they’ll be spin-offs and perhaps even another instalment when the box office returns come in.
Fast & Furious 8, coming off the astonishing $1.5bn success of Furious 7, will, of course, star Vin Diesel, with Dwayne Johnson also confirmed as returning, along with the rest of the surviving regulars and Kurt Russell. Straight Outta Compton's F. Gary Gray is the director this time out.
Furious 8 will be released April 14 next year.
