Tower Of Terror Theme Park Ride To Become Movie
Plunging down in the Tower of Terror won't just be a ride at a theme park as those movie big wigs are working to get it made into a film. Disney was impressed enough with John August's treatment.
The ride itself is all about getting lost in a fancy 'Hollywood Tower Hotel' where weird stuff goes down before being treated to a view right atop the hotel itself, before the elevator's cables snap and you plunge all the way back down to the lobby to get off. How exactly it's being adapted is unknown but there has to be some elevator terror involved.
It's also a conundrum as to who Disney will be targeting with this 'haunted house' film, as keeping it tame brings in the army of younger kids but going for a real scare nabs those pimply-faced teens and their disposable cash.
Tower of Terror is believed to be untangling itself from The Twilight Zone 'explanation' for why the hotel is weird.
