Surprise! Creative Assembly and SEGA are launching the Total War: WARHAMMER - Old World Edition today, but they also confirm Total War: WARHAMMER's sequel.

What the studio is calling 'Part One' of their plans for Total War: WARHAMMER is going to climax with the release of the eighth playable faction - Bretonnia - for free as a thank you to fans. This means 'Part Two' is now underway for the team.

“We’re rounding off part one with a bang, not a wimple, and it’s a big thank-you to our players”, said Rob Bartholomew, Brand Director. “The strength of our DLC sales means we can put more into our free content releases. Not only that, we can have faith in upping our content plans for the next two games.”

“We want to make the most incredible fantasy trilogy possible. And with Bretonnia, we’re bringing our time in the Old World to a close. Production on the sequel to TW: Warhammer has been underway for some time already and is now a key focus for the studio. It’s time to travel to new lands and discover new races.”

That's right, Creative Assembly are announcing a sequel to Total War: WARHAMMER with all eyes and hands now on the project. The free Bretonnia Race Pack meanwhile adds three new legendary lords to the mix, as well as the fan favourite kingdom to the sandbox campaign.

Total War: WARHAMMER - Old World Edition releases on PC today, February 28th.
