Former Doctor Who star David Tennant is set to star in Bad Samaritan, a new thriller directed by Independence Day writer Dean Devlin.

The script, by Apt Pupil scribe Brandon Boyce, centres on two young car valets who use their business as a front to burglarize the homes of their unsuspecting patrons. Life is pretty great for these petty thieves until they target the wrong house, changing their lives forever.

Deadline’s report hasn’t specified which role Tennant will play but it seems more than likely he’ll be the wronged party in that synopsis.

Other film projects currently in the pipe line for Tennant include playing renowned Scottish psychiatrist RD Laing in Robert Mullan’s Mad To Be Normal opposite Elisabeth Moss and begins shooting Daisy Aitkens’ romantic comedy Fish Without Bicycles later this year.
