ECHO Release Date Confirmed Mid-September

The sci-fi third-person adventure ECHO from indie team Ultra Ultra has been given a mid-September release date for PC and PlayStation 4.

It's from former HITMAN developers and they've decided to make the game's enemy ...you. The twist with ECHO is that your opponents are copies or 'echoes' of your character and so your play style dictates their own.

We take the role of En, a space traveller who has spent a century in stasis and arrives at her destination: a lavish Palace from legend and a true marvel from an ancient civilisation long since past. En hopes to return a life that shouldn't have been taken in this stealth adventure powered by Unreal Engine 4.

"A character-driven story of introspection and discovery, ECHO quickly develops into something much more unsettling. Stepping into the shoes of En, it becomes clear that The Palace itself studies everything you are, everything that you do; in order to use it against you. The Palace creates ‘Echoes’, with the sole purpose of destroying you. The game will shift and change as you do, constantly evolving its Echoes based your actions - If you sneak, they will get stealthier. If you shoot, they will start to shoot back."

There are brief moments of respite for En as sanctuary lies in a Blackout where the Palace shuts down in order to update its hostile copies of En, which grant a small window without consequence of being studied. Once the Palace reboots then more relentless pursuers are set loose.

ECHO releases on PC and PlayStation 4 September 19th, 2017.
