First Supergirl and Limitless Trailers Revealed

Following its upfront presentation CBS has unveiled several trailers for its fall line-up including Supergirl and Limitless.

In this extended preview, Supergirl, played by Melissa Benois, seems to be defending itself from criticism from the get go. Calista Flockhart's character goes on an extended speech about how the name "Supergirl" rather than “Superwoman” shouldn’t be taken as a pejorative – arguing with Kara Danves, Supergirl’s alter ego, that seeing Supergirl as anything less than excellent is your problem.

All in all, the frothy romantic tone may warrant such a guarded response but it’s refreshing to see a DC property without a grim, saturated tone.

Limitless boasts an all star cast, with a promised regular role for Bradley Cooper, as well as recognisable character actors such as Jennifer Carpenter and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio even if the concept still boils down to a man taking pills to make himself super smart.

Also shown at the event where trailers for Code Black - a medical drama staring Marcia Gay Harden set in Angels Memorial Hospital, the busiest ER in the nation, where the titular 'code black' - where there are more patients than resources, breaks out; Angel from Hell, a fantasy comedy staring Jane Lynch as an enigmatic guardian who may or may not be supernatural and Life in Pieces, a sitcom staring Diane Wiest and James Brolin.
